LED BY GOD

“Once again David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand.” 1 Samuel 23:4 NIV

David’s example teaches us to rely on God before making decisions or taking action.

Though he was a skilled warrior, he consistently sought God’s guidance, living out Proverbs 3:6: “Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight.” In our key scripture, the phrase “once again” shows that David repeatedly inquired of God, and each time, God responded. From this, we learn two key lessons: (1) Seek God in everything, even in areas where we feel competent, and (2) wait for His peace and certainty before moving forward.

God cares about your concerns, and when invited, He will align your desires with His perfect will (Psalm 37:4). You can trust Him!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this gift. It is no small thing to confidently know that my creator, who is also my redeemer is available to help and lead me into the right path. Praise be to my Lord for the indescribable gift that is Christ, who made it possible through the precious sacrifice of the cross. To you is all glory, honor and praise, Amen!
