LIVING CONTENT
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.” 1 Timothy 6:6-8 NIV
There is something extremely precious about someone who knows how to be content with what is available.
Many disdain this text because it comes off as telling people not to aim high, be ambitious or dream big. But that is not true, on the contrary dreaming big and aiming higher when your heart knows how to be content in whichever circumstances is true wealth than mere material possessions. It communicates that you do not find your value in what you possess, that in its presence whether abundantly or strict minimum you are not cast down or anxious of what will be thought or said of you.
It is such men who know how to enjoy all the dimensions of godliness because their worth is found in Christ and how much more of Him they can know in this lifetime. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am content in every circumstance because I have built my inner man, who alone sustains in every season. It will be said of me that knowing more of you is what my heart desired the most, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
