LIVING LED
“My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness…
Galatians 5:16-18 MSG
We are standing in times where submitting to God, or even simply believing there is a God is almost categorized the strange thing to do; and yet it is also the times we NEED God the most.
In our theme scripture, Paul doesn’t simply talk about living animated by the Holy Spirit, but living freely. The danger of our time is that bondage is being celebrated as freedom and freedom shunned as bondage. How did we get here you may ask?
Paul gives us an answer in Romans 1:18-32, men allowed godlessness, were ungrateful to God neither did they recognize Him as God and the consequence of this disobedience was a removal of the hedge that guards a mind which is submitted and obedient to one greater.
And because the heart is deceitful beyond measure (Jeremiah 17:9), men began having inconceivable thoughts and normalizing it which is displayed in the present moral decay in our world. Nevertheless, we rejoice in the good news that Christ died and rose again that all those who believe and recommit to the Lord are eternally forgiven and divinely enabled to live holy and pure lives. Child of God, do not forget that where sin abounds grace abounds more.
Let those that have been redeemed live like it, say so and be the light; remembering that you were once lost and now you are found. Let our light so shine, that gentiles would be drawn to our light, and Christ would be glorified through us. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. Your word is the authority that governs my life. I submit willfully and consciously that I may be transformed and renewed daily. It will be said of me that I lived freely because one greater than I led my steps, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
