OF FREE WILL
“And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”
Many among us have a past that is almost unbelievable because of the restoration, cleansing and transformation God has done once we came to Him through Christ Jesus. Often times, those who have the most horrendous stories tend to be the most zealous because as our Master says, those that have been forgiven much will love most and those who assume they have been forgiven little, will love little (
).It is dangerous to take the liberty that cost the Lord’s blood and live in it recklessly, yet we have been given the will to live entirely surrendered to Christ or remain worldly. Paul awakens us to the realization that just because something is legal and acceptable in society doesn’t make it spiritually acceptable. Child of God, do not be deceived, life is a cycle of servitude. Through this free will that is thrown around as a means to live unaccountable to no one, you become a slave to that which you satisfy most.
The same is true if you surrender your will to the Holy Spirit, you become a slave to the one who knew you before you were formed, had a purpose tied to your life and intends to lead your steps into fulfilling it.
Choose today if you will be a slave to your whims, or to the Spirit of Truth. Praise God.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. My life is not my own for it was purchased with the precious blood of our Lord and savior. I live as one under authority and with willful submission. You are my strength and my light, and because of this I am bold and confident in my convictions, in Jesus’ name.
