OF GOOD THINGS

“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” James 1:17 NLT

At the end of each day, take an inventory of your day and the activities you have done, and reflect.

When each activity has only served you (like the gym, a spa, a walk or whatever fills your cup that was more of a solo and all about you) most chances are you will feel energized and ready to keep going. When all you have done requires you put others first, serve others, minister, host or any other thing in that capacity, chances are you feel tired/ exhausted even though it wasn’t so while you went about your day.

Both scenarios show us that the good things not only involve serving one another but are only from God and consequently demand reliance on Him to be done well and with grace. On the other hand, things that serve self take nothing from us because we are already full of self as per the worldly design under which our flesh falls and therefore show no desire for relying on God.

Child of God, It is only in serving and loving one another that we can experience goodness of which the source never runs out.

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am fueled by the grace you give to carry me through each day. Let every deed and action testify of what you have done for out of that abundance do I also give; in Jesus name. Amen!

CI.
