OF PROTECTION

”He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.“ Psalms 121:3 NLT

One of the most impardonnable things a security guard can do is fall asleep while on their guard post for it defeats the ultimate purpose of them being there in the first place.

God’s protection however goes far beyond mere standing at the door. It is on the roads when you make your commutes. It is in the planes where you sit comfortably without a care until your next destination.

It is active even when you lie down helpless in your sleep. It is in the daily upkeep of your organs that work without any input yet you trust them to provide everything you need on a daily basis.

David writes one of the shortest psalms of which he exalts the protection of God as one that is a sure help, an ever present attendance that cannot be swayed by fatigue or exhaustion.

The psalmist encourages us to look to the strong for help, because God promises you that heaven and earth could perish before one hair on your head could be touched.

This remains true whether your body feels pain or not, whether your heart is broken or joyful, whether tragedy comes or peace reigns. Where you look to, determines whence your help comes from.

It is the Lord that keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. It is He that keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. My soul remains calm because He that made heaven and earth is my protector and His faithfulness is my shield. I rest in the assurance that whether hundreds or thousands fall to my side none comes near me. My hope is sure in the one that neither sleeps, nor slumbers. The one who does not fail, but is rock of my salvation, in Jesus name. Amen!
