OF REVERENCE

”The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.“ Isaiah 8:11-13 NLT

God calls us to live above the systems of this world. Some of these things sound so spiritual that they have almost become objects of mockery, but the truth remains — you the believer should live above the systems of this world. Remember you are in the world, but not of it (John 17:16).

In our theme scripture, God tells his prophet that the majority is not always right and that he has to keep choosing the narrow road (Matthew 7:13) regardless of what everybody else chooses to follow. He commands him to be so set apart that even what causes fear to others, should not cause him fear but instead he should be more concerned about what moves the heart of God.

The same is true for us in this day and age. When the economy seems to be unrealistically unstable, our attitude as children of God should prove that a casting down in the world is a lifting up in the spirit (Job 22:29). When everyone is doing everything unreasonable to be promoted or recognized, we should remember that promotion neither comes from east, west or south but from the Lord (Psalm 75:6).

Child of God, the thoughts and ways of God are higher than we can ever grasp. As far as heaven is from earth, so are our thoughts from God’s. Because of this, always seek for the counsel of God in everything. Don’t be shaken by how different it may seem or sound, it was never designed to sound common in the first place.

As your mind is continuously transformed, and your spiritual reality begins to define your physical, you will realize that indeed there is more to every trial, to every waiting period, to every action that differs from what the mass chooses. For you, the promise is this: ‘All things work together for those who love the Lord, and are called according to His purposes.’ Romans 8:28

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. May the meditations of my heart always be pleasing unto you. I am set apart by the thoughts and choices that you guide me to for they reflect a system above all systems. I am anchored and fully yielded to your truth, and by this wisdom I know what to do and when to do it, in Jesus name. Amen!
