OF SALVATION
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.” 1 Timothy 1:15 NIV
Salvation has no meaning or sweetness to it except the sense of knowing ourselves as sinners makes it precious to us.
The grace message stumbles many for this reason. In our theme scripture, Paul references the same thought many times, that he did not deserve apostleship, or to be used by God. Yet, he rejoices in the sole knowledge that even so God took him up in his arms and poured his love on Him. Child of God, embracing grace does not mean we keep sinning simply because we know we can repent tomorrow and it is forgiven.
Instead the heart truly saved abhors sin more and more and is deeply grieved when overtaken by it whether accidentally or passively.
Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Father I thank you for your immeasurable grace and mercy. You are able to keep me from stumbling until the day of Christ and to this I yield my spirit daily in obedience to the leading of the holy spirit to the glory of your name. Amen!
