OUR HELPER

”For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.“
Philippians 2:13 NLT

One of the most comforting things about the life of faith is that we have not been left to figure things out on our own.

The Holy Spirit is an incomparable gift that our Lord Jesus Christ afforded us by finishing his earthly assignment. When He reveals what would happen after his ascension, He promises that He would send a helper, who will teach us into all things and bring to remembrance all that He spoke (John 14:26).

The Holy Spirit is that helper, the spiritual aspect of us that makes Christ a reality. He is the one, as one great teacher once said, who applies the blood of Jesus to our conscience and lifts the cup of the waters which make one never thirst again to our lips (John 4:10).

Just as the Holy Spirit  glided over the face of the earth executing what the mind of God intended to create (Genesis 1:2), He does the same to our souls when we become born again.

He gives life to our spiritual members, a heart that feels after God’s (Acts 17:27), eyes that see like His (Matthew 14:14), lips that convey His nature (Proverbs 16:21) hands and feet that carry our testimony, which is the good news (Isaiah 52:7).

Child of God, if you seek for anything in this life, let it be intimacy with your helper. For your helper is the only one able to search the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:10), and impart them to you as you yield to Him. Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this gift. You took on flesh, gave me your only son to die for my sins and crowned it with your spirit that I may abound in every good work by His help. I am yielded to your preparations that I may be entrusted with more, in Jesus name. Amen!
