”Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”1 Thessalonians 5:23 NLT

When it comes to emotions, feelings and thoughts, King David is the man given for us to study. InPsalm 139, he pleads with God search his heart and to reveal any grievous ways that may be in it unbeknownst to him.

Coming to such an understanding demands that one esteems themselves in their true value. It demands a humility that acknowledges how evil and out of control the thoughts of our hearts really can be and then can be able to invite the works of the Holy Spirit in one’s life.

That is what Paul says in our theme scripture, that it is God who makes us Holy, and it is His power alone that can keep the depth of our souls, the magnitude of our spirits and the frailty of our bodies blameless. What a profound thought this is! He performs it, as only He can, yet He cannot go against His nature which is gentle and not forceful, leaving us the liberty to willfully choose His help.

Child of God, if you can allow such profound thoughts of God to take deep root in your heart, mind, and soul, it wouldn’t be long before you do realize that indeed you are kept blameless. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this word. My thoughts are stayed on what is true, praiseworthy, noble, pure, holy, friendly, and proper. I know that my life is hid in Christ and He in God, and for this reason do I confidently submit to your spirit’s excellent work in and through me. To you be all glory, and honor, now and forever more, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
