”This fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah that says, ‘When you hear what I say, you will not understand. When you see what I do, you will not comprehend.“
Matthew 13:14NLT

The school of the spirit is a school for life. Nobody ever graduates in matters of the spirit because the things of the kingdom of God are of glory to glory, and grace to grace.

It is not to be mistaken for God being changeable or growing in any manner, it is us who experience His fullness from whence we are able to comprehend. Just as a child grows into a teenager, adult and becomes old one day, earning a certain maturity that enables them to understand different aspects of life, so it is with us in the spirit.

In our theme scripture, Matthew talks about those that hear but do not understand, those that see but do not comprehend. This was spoken of the pharisees who were diligent and eloquent in the law, but failed to recognize the one it spoke of when He came in the flesh.

We have some modern day pharisees who know way too much to still be taught of God. Such a veil causes you to forget that God uses men to accomplish his purposes in the world, and brings up consequences of such familiarity and conceit, which is the failure to recognize those ordained to elevate you because you are not teachable.

Child of God, be wise into what is good, be like a child before your Father and concerning what is evil, be simple. It is such a heart that ensures the path of life is always known to you (Psalm 16:11).

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I have obtained the grace to be teachable and I absorb every word you speak through those you have ordained for my increase. I ponder and meditate on these things even as my inner man is enlarged. Far be it from me to despise your words for failure to discern the vessel through which it comes, in Jesus’ name, Amen!
