STABILITY OF YOUR TIME

“The Preacher sought to find acceptable words; and what was written was upright—words of truth. The words of the wise are like goads, and the words of scholars are like well-driven nails, given by one Shepherd. And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.” Ecclesiastes 12:10-12 NKJV

The most fundamental factor for growth on the journey of every believer is to be anchored in a church that teaches the one true doctrine, have a community of believers around them for iron sharpens iron and cultivate a personal relationship with God through His word and through prayer (communion).

Show me a man that is unstable like the winds and I will show you one who is wanting in either one or all of these three. In our theme scripture, the man of wisdom tells us that a good teacher finds what was written and preaches it uprightly. Beyond that, every one of his words provokes a response to them, pointing to the conviction that follows the works of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a man.

Child of God, it doesn’t matter what depth you attain, how many books you have read or academic credentials you have attained — none of the latter, in as much as they are important, is any less than the works or praises of men. The fellowship of the saints and the stability of one under one teacher preserves you from many noises seeking to speak where God is instructing.

Take heed that you are not swayed by the lust of the eye, of the flesh or the pride of life. Wisdom shall be the stability of your time (Isaiah 33:6) and you cannot pour in an unstable vessel. Selah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I am a ruled spirit and obey the spiritual authority you have set above me that your servants may account for my soul. I take joy in the privileges of submission for I understand the safety it provides. Far be it from me to be unstable, or despise wisdom that builds, understanding that establishes and knowledge that avails riches. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen!
