STAYING HUNGRY
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6 NKJV
If you have eaten bread at all in your life, you know how filling bread is.
We speak of Christ as the bread of life metaphorically because no matter the degree of spiritual hunger you may have in you, He is able to satisfy, just as bread does and more. In our theme scripture the Bible speaks of the hungry and thirsty for righteousness and crowns it with a promise that they will be filled.
Child of God, ask the Lord to continuously make you righteous, to soften your heart toward conviction, to lead you with instruction and pre-decide to willfully abide by what He presents to you. Often times human beings want the results of holiness without the process of sanctification, the fruit of righteousness without obedience and yielded-ness to the spirit.
Not so with you, let your heart, spirit and soul always desire what is right and pleasing to God and you will see the vindication of the just. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I thank you for your spirit that is our unfailing present help. May the meditations of my heart and the thoughts of my mind reflect that I lean entirely on you as I follow Christ, to the glory of your name. Amen!
