STAYING POWER
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 49:15 NIV
There are moments in life, whether you are a believer going through trying times or unbelieving and coming to the realization that the soul is always on an endless search of more until it encounters its maker — where you might question if God cares!
Our theme scripture gives us a least than likely scenario of a mother forgetting a child on her breast. That feels and seems unfathomable because we know how precious a bond between a mother and her baby is, yet He says that even if such an occurrence would happen as rare as it is, my nature wouldn’t allow me to forget you.
Child of God, it does not matter how fiery the furnace is, how difficult the diagnosis is, how much you are scrapping for the last pennies in your possession, God can be trusted beyond our feelings because He has exalted His word above His name.
Blessed are they who have not seen but still believe (John 20:29).
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I know that you are good, faithful and true to your word. More than that, I believe it, and though circumstances may sometimes press in on me to believe otherwise, my resolve remains singularly focused on you. You are worthy to be trusted and praised now and forevermore, in Jesus name. Amen!
