OF PRESERVATION

“Elisha said, “As surely as the Lord Almighty lives, whom I serve, if I did not have respect for the presence of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, I would not pay any attention to you.” 2 Kings 3:14 NIV

There are covenants with God that are capable of preserving not just a family, but nations and kingdoms.

In this story, we see two men with this privilege, Elisha who was Elijah’s personal servant, and king Jehoshaphat who had not defiled his altar. The kings of Israel and Edom had no favor but because one man had not defiled his worship, they benefited from it. Child of God, the same power of association at work then is at work now .

The psalmist assures us that from his youth to his old age, never had he seen the righteous forsaken or their seed beg bread (Psalm 37:25). Nurture and serve your God uncompromisingly for your seed, your community and nation will reap of the Lord’s faithfulness to you. His promises stand today, and forevermore.

Praise Him!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I know that you have exalted your word above your name and for this it remains trustworthy. My dedication and love is entirely to you, and I am confident it preserves me and all that is connected to me, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
