THAT ALL MEN BE SAVED

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 NIV

It is not our responsibility to decide who has the right to salvation or not.

In fact one of the greatest marks of maturity is to view anyone who hasn’t come to know Christ as a subject of prayer above all. This is independent of how badly they have offended us, hurt us or even seem to be an outcast from whatever you deem correct standing in society.

In our theme scripture, Paul makes a definite statement that God wants ALL PEOPLE not just to be saved, but to come to the knowledge of truth. Remember that in John 8:32, Jesus tells us that its this truth we know that sets free. Child of God do not play with writing off any man or woman because they seem beyond redemption. God is not slow as we count slowness but is patient with each one of us that all may have a chance at redemption.

Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. Open my eyes to see people beyond their circumstances. Soften my heart to feel after you so that I may take up every opportunity to preach Christ that you may draw men to you. I pray and believe this in the name of our Lord Jesus, Amen!
