THE BASIS OF ALL THINGS
“Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 NIV
Love is the ultimate driving force that moved and still moves God to all that he does for humanity. He doesn’t just love, HE IS LOVE!
If then we are born again with His nature, and are made in His likeness, we should make every effort, with the help of His spirit to reflect what most reflects God in us, and that is love.
Whether we lead people in our respective professional roles, whether we intercede for others, whether we parent or relate with spouses or friends, whether we give or receive — let it all be rooted in love. 1 John 4:8 puts it this way: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” It is not possible to know God and not be motivated by love, and even when sinful nature creeps in, it cannot stand in the presence of perfect love.
One will give way to another, and light always concurs darkness. Praise God!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this blessing. I thank you for giving me the ability to love because you loved me first. Elevate my sight to see every man how you see them that I may abound in every good work by your holy spirit, in Jesus name. Amen!
