THE BETTER SACRIFICE: OBEDIENCE
“Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him. In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us.” Colossians 3:10-11 NLT
I know we have all at one point wondered why it seems like people who are living in deception seem to be enjoying themselves while those who are doing their best to live in obedience to God seem to struggle.
As believers, we have the spirit of God in us which tames us to divinely aligned realities, which know no error in themselves.
Likewise those who are not led by the spirit ascribe to another government which is the spirit in the world. This kind is mostly preoccupied with satisfying every passion and craving, not withstanding the consequences in the moment.
Paul then tells us that our preoccupation should be of getting to know our Master so well that our chief desire is to become exactly like Him, and this is possible because of Christ living in us. The more obedient you are to what you come to know about our Lord, the greater and most pleasing your sacrifice is in his sight.
Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am a product of your grace and because of it I know that I have all that I need for life and godliness. There is nothing that you allow to test me without giving me the capacity to overcome when I am obedient. This mind is in me as it was in Christ my Lord, to the glory of your name. Amen!
