”But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26 NKJV

In Luke 1, we are told of a story of a priest called Zechariah (or Zacharias in some versions) who’s wife was Elizabeth, a descendant of Aaron. In his visitation, the angel tells him his wife will bear a son who will serve the Lord mightily and prepare the way for Christ. In the brief encounter, the very priest did not believe what the angel spoke to him and immediately was struck with muteness.

One wonderful minister once said that faith is knowing things can happen, but hope is knowing that they can happen for you. Zechariah’s unbelief was a result of his personal perception of what God could do for him. Historically, there was track record of God opening barren wombs from our mother Sarah, Rachel or Hannah.

There was no reason for one to question that He was still the same God able to do the same for Elizabeth. While the chastisement pronounced by the angel may seem unfair, God does not deal with us as men that don’t know who He is or our covenant with Him (Luke 12:48).

Child of God, there are endless possibilities in God and many of the keys you need to place a demand on such doors to open for you are found in His Word. The psalmist says in 138:2 that He has exalted His Word above His name. Do not underestimate this powerful treasure made available to you. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this Word. It is such a privilege to be granted the right to come by the blood and in your name. Now to you that is able to do abundantly, exceedingly and above that which I can ask, have your way and give me strength of might to embrace your truth wholeheartedly, in Jesus name. Amen!
