THE END OF A THING

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12 NIV

CS Lewis once said: I am convinced God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for them to wait.

God’s people are a waiting people. It is imperative that we understand the reality of the new birth, we are in a finite world with finite realities, but our souls are entirely renewed by divine and infinite truths that are to guide our lives.  Consequent to that reality, we wait because our minds have been permeated by the mind of Christ.

We know what is to come yet wait for it to be made manifest.  Such is the reality our brother James reminds us of, that the blessing is in the perseverance. The end of a thing, is better than its beginning, and in the fullness of time — the end justifies the means. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. Infuse your strength in my being, to understand and obey instructions as I wait on you. I entrust my self to your guidance for I know your plans for me can be trusted. Your grace enables me to persevere to the end as my Lord did, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
