THE FREEDOM IN CONFESSION

“But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 TPT

Although Jesus has already gained us acceptance with God through His sacrifice, and nothing you do or don’t do changes that, confession is the way we have unbroken fellowship with God.

There are such things as obstacles from communion with the Lord. For example shame, guilt, unforgiveness and many in the same line of reasoning, that breach our communion. That is why the enemy thrives on embittered hearts, a myriad of reasons God cannot use you or want you because of things you may or may not have done (shame & guilt).

Child of God, our heavenly Father is faithful not just to forgive what we confess but to bring to light even our unknown sins that He may cleanse us from all aspects of sin’s defilement until the day of Christ. Take good courage and receive from the Lord, do not harden your heart by holding on to what has been forgiven and paid for, for your sake.

Make every effort to forgive others and yourself, to break secrets for the strength of sin is in secrecy, and finally to walk into what has been done for you through Christ. Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I make every effort to steward the place of communion with you with all diligence, laying bare all my desires, thoughts and deepest wishes. I confidently and fully trust in the power of the blood to cleanse my conscience of all guilt that I may come before you with boldness. I receive and walk conscious of my sonship through Christ Jesus my Lord and savior, to the glory of your name. Amen!
