TO GROW IN LOVE
“I continue to pray for your love to grow and increase beyond measure, bringing you into the rich revelation of spiritual insight in all things. This will enable you to choose the most excellent way of all —becoming pure and without offense until the unveiling of Christ.” Philippians 1:9-10 TPT
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Paul defined love for us to be all the things stated above, and in our theme scripture he prays that our love may grow beyond measure so that we may increase in spiritual insight. In other words, for us to feel after God, for us to grow in receiving and extending the grace of God as given to us, we must grow in love.
It is not always easy to apply ourselves to such truth for the world and what is in it is evil, but the spirit of God at work in us is our helper who performs it all in and through us. Lean entirely on His help and the Lord himself will perfect you in love. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I love because you first loved me and for this reason do I extend the same grace to my brothers and sisters as I have received. I am filled with your spirit that causes me to excel in all spiritual things, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
