”For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?“ 1 Peter 4:17 NLT

God is not a hypocritical leader. Everything he demands to the non believer, He must see to it that the believer does that and more.

I watch in utter shock many Christians still thinking that because they profess the name of Jesus somehow they will as the world speaks ‘tip the odds in their favor’, but No brethren that is witchcraft.

An honest parent will not proceed to correct other people’s children about things their own children are found wanting in. On the other hand, no parent can withhold their peace when they see another child error in something they are persuaded can be corrected because their child is proof.

We are in a time where judgement is being released, whether in politics, entertainment, business, households and so on, and God being the just judge He is, will scourge His own household as He will the pagan’s. Hence the demand on you and I as the body of Christ to strive for holiness, which can only be attained by being intimately acquainted with Him.

If it is an altar you must raise, do so. If it is a sin that ensnares you that you must purge, pray earnestly the words of David in Psalm 139:23 – Search my heart oh God and reveal anything that offends your spirit and take his answer at face value and with a heart willing to be helped to change.

If it is relationships he must sever, open your hands and let Him. It won’t be long before you realize the express command ‘Be ye Holy, for I am Holy’ (Leviticus 20:7) is not some unattainable and unrealistic Christianese instruction, but a reality present and apprehensible by the spirit at work in you. Praise God!

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this word. I thank you for being mighty in power and just in judgement, that you demonstrate that truly love (charity) begins at home and on to the nations. Deal with me according to your riches in mercy, purge what you must, uproot what you did not plant, bless where you will and guide me through the path the fowls don’t know. Come be Lord over my life, come take charge — in Jesus mighty name.
