THE PEACE OF THE RIGHTEOUS
“In righteousness you will be established: Tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.” Isaiah 54:14 NIV
When a person has nothing in their conscience accusing them, they know of the peace that God gives that is unlike the world’s.
For example, if one is a gossip, every time you ask them a question they may find it hard to just answer what you asked but instead retort with ‘who told you’? This is because once they know who said what, they may be able to remember what they said and to who, which then informs what to say next.
This may seem like a little thing, but it is really that sin which James talks about, that once it has been conceived it brings forth death (James 1:14). The same is true if anyone is a liar, a fornicator, an adulterer.
When that transmitted disease test comes out positive you can’t really figure out where it came from, when that lie is exposed sometimes you may not even remember. But for you, child of God, the promise is different. When you see to it that your ways align and please the Lord’s, you are established in righteousness.
You do not have to scratch your head to remember what you said because your testimonies are consistent and true. You do not test for any diseases because you have kept your marriage bed undefiled. You do not worry about what you may have said when you shouldn’t because you don’t keep the company of scoffers.
Yours is the path of the just, and in all that you do you extend a hand of fellowship and not a root of bitterness. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I am established in righteousness because I have learnt to observe your ways which guarantee peace and harmony. I lie down daily to rest that is sweet because I know no judgement stands against me. It is whose eyes see to and fro that guards my lot, in Jesus mighty name! Amen.
