THE TREASURE IN EARTHEN VESSELS (II)
“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.”
2 Corinthians 4:7 KJV
The power of the Holy Spirit is a double edged kind just as is the Word it represents. While it may operate supernaturally and wonderfully through you to fulfill divine purpose on earth, it operates gently yet firmly in you to produce meekness.
The purpose for this balance is such that what he performs through you does not puff you up and make you loose touch with the purpose for which he does it in the first place. That is why the treasure doesn’t loose its supernatural influence regardless of being in earthen vessels that may seem unqualified to bear it. Child of God, it took great humility for the son of God who knew no sin, to put on flesh and blood and dwell among those whom He created. Yet, he did not sin, he walked righteously and obeyed the lead of the spirit of God. It is only fitting that the same virtue becomes your greatest attribute for the opposite leads to destruction.
It is those with clean hands and pure hearts that will inherit the Kingdom of God ( Psalm 24:4). Let this be your testimony! Hallelujah.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I thank you for the Holy Spirit that tames and instructs me into all truth. I have a ruled spirit because I am yielded to his gentle and firm convictions. Far be it from me to miss the mark concerning what you intend to do in the world through the testimony of my life, in Jesus name. Amen!
