THE WAYS OF MEN
“There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again—it leads straight to hell. Sure, those people appear to be having a good time, but all that laughter will end in heartbreak.” Proverbs 14:12-13 MSG
AW Tozer once said: a little compromise here, another there and soon enough the so called Christian and the man in the world look the same. The life of christianity is one of dying daily, and as crude as it sounds, it its the reality and obviously there is nothing fun about dying. Our flesh’s nature on the opposite end is to primarily satisfy every desire and need that comes up, under the guise of ‘you only live once’, yet chipping away from the soul until there is no more life in it.
Solomon tells us that indeed it starts off looking harmless but leads to hell. You child of God, do not need to be involved with sin in order to minister to those in the world. God is sovereign enough, his name is powerful enough and his word complete enough to draw men to himself. While the concept of meeting people from whence they can understand is beneficial if done in wisdom, we are living inna time where the church has began to look like the world in the spirit of wanting to draw the world, yet Jesus is clear: if I be lifted, I will draw all men to myself (John 12:32).
Be careful then child of God, not to lose yourself in compromises that may cost your life, for the Gospel that was able to save you too needs not to use sin to reach others. Praise God!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. Thank you for your holy spirit and the oneness with Christ it brings to my life. I live in such a way that my light so shines and testifies of your goodness and redeeming power. I refuse to lower the standards you have imparted unto me but instead uphold them as the banner of love that calls men higher, to the glory of your name. Amen!
