TO BE TAUGHT OF GOD

“Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.” Hosea 6:3 NKJV

Throughout the book of 1 Samuel we see rich examples of being taught of God through David’s life.

Though he was a seasoned warrior, familiar with his enemies’ strategies and terrains, David never relied on experience alone. With such military astuteness, you would expect him to lean on his own understanding or skill but he sought the Lord’s heart on each battle. This shows us that to be “taught of God” is not about natural intelligence or proven skill—it’s about posture.

David’s strength was not only his courage but his dependency. He was trained in warfare, but more importantly, he was trained in trust.Isaiah 54:13 prophesies that “all your children shall be taught by the Lord.” That promise extends to you today. As you pursue the knowledge of God, He teaches you—not just with information, but with wisdom, timing, and grace that shapes your decisions, equips your speech, and prepares your steps.

Just as rain nourishes the land, so God’s guidance brings life to the barren, clarity to the confused, and strength to the weary. Divine provision—whether wisdom, insight, healing, or provision—is available because your Lord is faithful.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this wisdom. You give wisdom to those that ask, and by reason of this I walk with confidence that my help is readily available. It will be said of me that I spoke the oracles of God, as one learned and equipped in season to speak to the weary, in Jesus name. Amen!
