TRUSTING THE PROCESS
“Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39 NIV
The story of Jesus in the garden pleading with God to keep him from enduring the very purpose for which he had come is one of the most important things for us to hold on to as believers.
He wasn’t surprised by any of it, yet it did not keep him from the agony of grief. He knew that God could stop it, but He also knew that God could use it if he endured and trusted Him to be who He always is – sovereign and faithful.
In His most painful and tasking circumstance , our Lord modeled to us that was okay to continually ask the Lord for those thing’s we desire yet still entrust ourselves, our concerns and our lives to His wisdom that knows and sees more than we can ever fathom.
Surrendering to God is neither passive, natural or easy, but by enduring and trusting in Him we invite His grace to blow our minds with countless stories of resurrections that serve as living testimonies.
Trust therefore in the Lord for He is faithful.
Prayer: Father I thank you for your faithfulness. I entrust my life and deepest desires to you because I know you care for me. I am confident that in delighting in you, my heart is most aligned to desire what your heart desires. You exchanged your life for mine, and my worship will forever be yours, in Jesus name! Amen.
