VOICE OF GOD (I)

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 NIV

The topic of hearing God’s voice is one that every believer has wrestled with at some point.

Throughout Scripture, we see a clear pattern of God speaking—whether to Abraham, Moses, the prophets, Jesus, or the apostles. The key is this: when you immerse yourself in the Word of God, it becomes much easier to recognize His voice, as it will always align with His written Word. It’s like a child being able to recognize the voice of his parent in a crowd. God’s Word serves as a filter, confirming and guiding you on the path to your purpose (Jeremiah 1:5).

As the apostle Peter wrote, we have a “more sure word of prophecy” (2 Peter 1:19), and while prophecies and encouragements are valuable, they should never contradict or surpass the authority of Scripture. Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. Your word is the principal guide of my steps, it counsels me and helps me make important decisions in my life. May I never loose the wonder nor take lightly the privilege of hearing from you through your infallible written word. To you be glory, honor and praise forevermore, in Jesus name. Amen!
