WISDOM REDEEMS TIME
“Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, And the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life.” Proverbs 4:10-13 NKJV
When we talk about wisdom—especially in spiritual conversations—we are not merely referring to the ability to create, innovate, or succeed by worldly standards. Society often reduces wisdom to intelligence or achievement, but in God’s eyes, it is something deeper and far more precious.
According to Scripture, wisdom is the godly ability to merge knowledge and understanding in order to make sound, righteous decisions. Some people possess knowledge, yet their actions reveal a lack of true understanding. Others may have both knowledge and understanding, but they fail to exercise sound judgment—sometimes due to fear, pride, or selfish motives.
Proverbs 4 reminds us that the wisdom of God, at work in a yielded believer, brings tangible fruit. It not only prolongs life and guards one’s path, but it also provides a firm foundation, preventing missteps. This kind of wisdom doesn’t just make life easier—it redeems time. It preserves us from detours and disasters we might otherwise face without it.
When we embrace divine wisdom, we are no longer tossed by impulsive decisions or worldly distractions. Instead, we are anchored in truth, guided by discernment, and kept from falling. Wisdom becomes more than a virtue—it becomes our lifeline.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being the source of all wisdom. Help me to not merely gather knowledge, but to understand and apply it in a way that honors You. Teach me to walk in Your ways, to value instruction, and to hold tightly to the wisdom that leads to life. Redeem my time, Lord. Keep my feet from stumbling and my heart from straying. I walk daily in the light of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
