A CHEERFUL HEART

“All the days of the oppressed are wretched, but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.” Proverbs 15:15 NIV

There is something fundamentally enjoyable and attractive about people who know how to find the positive in everything.

Some may call it being unrealistic, some may defend finding fault and thinking of ‘worst case scenarios’ as being rational, but truth is many of us are conditioned to rehearse tragedy and not be prompt to trust that actually all things work together for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28).

To say something is out of the Lord’s will is to presume the Lord could be out of control, which of course is impossible. But is there a permissible and a perfect will? Absolutely. Is there set boundaries for us to enjoy freedom? Totally! Do we often break the boundaries and find ourselves facing consequences for our actions? More often than not. But even then does God redeem even the most unfathomably broken people? YES!

Child of God, when we emphasize the act of being cheerful, grateful, finding the positive in every situation, confessing right, shutting the naysers out, dancing before the Lord in the hardest moments — we speak of the wisdom in our theme scripture: to continue the feast.

Let nothing ever deter you from this fact: If God is for me, who can be against me? (Romans 8:31)

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am tamed and aligned to your counsel which is true from age to age. I celebrate the small handsized cloud in the sky when I have prayed for plenty of rain for I know faith makes things live. I have predecided to keep the feast for I know whom I have believed, in Jesus mighty name! Amen.
