THE LORD WHO TEMPTS NOT
“The scepter of the wicked will not remain over the land allotted to the righteous, so that the righteous will not apply their hands to injustice.” Psalms 125:3 CSB
It is scriptures like these that make me revere the dangerous love which God has loved mankind (John 3:16).
In James 1:13, the Bible says none under temptation should ever say the Lord is testing them because He himself is not tempted by evil.
In our theme scripture, the psalmist literally tells us that God in his providence and mercy keeps the wicked from ruling over the righteous long enough to cause the righteous to commit any injustice although it may be justified. He keeps you from the hand of the wicked not that you wouldn’t be harmed because greater is he that is in you (1John 4:4), but that you don’t find reason for revenge and defile your hands which are to be kept clean and your heart which is to be kept pure.
Child of God, such are the precious thoughts of God towards you. Whatever the circumstances, He is for you and not against you. Let this truth sink in! Hallelujah.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this blessed assurance. I hold my peace while you fight every one of my battles. I am confident the one who fights for me knows only how to win. I pray that every man willing to repent may be showed your mercy for your desire is that all may be saved. Let my devotion draw others to your everlasting love, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
