ADOPTION THROUGH FAITH
“This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 3:6 NIV
When we talk about mysteries, the younger in faith might frown at the thought of complexities and keep faith at bay.
But in our theme scripture, Paul puts the mystery of salvation plainly and simply: Christ died for all people not just Israel and every man who believes in the death and resurrection of Jesus, and confesses Him with their mouth crosses over automatically.
This means, whether you were brought up in the faith or not, whether you ascribed to another religion or cult, whether you are of this or that race, all of that is inconsequential as long as you accept and confess Christ as your Lord and savior.
The beauty of adoption in jewish context is that a parent could disown their own child, but once you adopted a child you had no legal grounds to reverse your decision. That is why the message insists on adoption even beyond the mere fact of fatherhood. Child of God, this is why we can confidently trust such exhortations: absolutely nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35). Be secure in this truth saints, it sets free! Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I am persuaded of your love and nothing can corrupt this truth in my heart. I conduct my self with peace and confidence that you care for me, and hear me when I pray, in Jesus name! Amen.
