BALANCED JUDGEMENT
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17 NIV
In our theme scripture, John tells us that Christ was never sent to condemn anyone. Instead, He came to save everyone who will respond to His invitation.
Many people wrestle with the thought of salvation because they imagine you have to be perfect before you can come to God, or He is an angry judge who keeps busy fault finding and that is untrue.
Revelation 12:10 calls satan the accuser of the brethren, which we also see in Job 2:4 where God boasts about his servant Job while Satan accuses him. The essence of mercy, child of God, is to receive forgiveness for an act that deserves and demands judgement; but the one who has both the power and authority to judge chooses to forgive. God is merciful, when Satan is accusing you and I, and often times might be right in his accusations. A balanced judgement is to remember this when hard times come to your door. That though God may allow it, He did not cause it.
The earth is not designed to shield us from pain or suffering, but the blood of Jesus certainly was poured out to redeem us where we wouldn’t be otherwise. May it be said of you that in all circumstances, you judged God right, faithful and true. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I thank you for your goodness and faithfulness. I thank you for the forgiveness of sin and the mercy that follows me all my days. I yield my heart to you that the understanding of your nature and ways may permeate my soul. To you belong all glory, honor and praise, in Jesus name. Amen!
