EQUIPPING THE CALLED
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3 NLT
God is merciful by nature, and because of his immeasurable love, He cannot demand from us what He knows He hasn’t enabled us to perform or achieve.
That is essentially the truth which Peter shines a light on in our theme scripture, that He has given us everything we need to live the life he prescribes to us. By consequence of this equipment present in every saint that has received His son Jesus as Lord and Savior, the apostle proceeds to tell us in the following verses that it is because of such promises that we are able to share into His nature.
That means, if God demands holiness from you, He has enabled you to be so. If He demands kindness, patience, humility, forbearance, you name it — He knows He has put it in you to be/ do so. Child of God, we stand therefore without excuse. All that we need to be blameless as ambassadors of Christ here on earth has been given to us and our will is the only hindrance that can abort purpose.
Submit to the spirit therefore as He leads your steps into glorifying Jesus! Hallelujah.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. In you I live, move and have my being. I have resolved to know nothing of my self but what you speak to be true of your nature and my self as a partaker. It will be said of me that my life glorified you, in Jesus mighty name! Amen.
