ETERNAL LIFE
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3 NIV
I am generally fascinated by studying different graces that have walked this earth, from the Christ, his disciples, other men who significantly impacted the world like Charles Spurgeon, Charles Finney, Maria Woodworth-Etter and the likes.
What I relate the words of John to with the lives of such God’s generals is how even long after they have passed on to glory, their works are still fruit to be observed and material to teach the next generations. Many times we think of eternal life carnally, but eternal life in the sight of God is when a man has lived with pure hands and a clean heart so much so that his fruit outlive him.
It is when your life is a testament that transcends the test of time that God preserves it to give life and counsel to the next generation as he did with Elisha’s bones (2 Kings 13:21). May it be said of you that you had eternal life for the simple fact that you knew the God in whom you believe. Praise the Lord.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I have found profound gain in giving my self wholly to your word and its counsel. In it is the true revelation of who you are and salvation for my soul to the glory of your name! Amen.
