FREE WILL (I)

“For although we live in the flesh, we do not wage war according to the flesh, since the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but are powerful through God for the demolition of strongholds. We demolish arguments and every proud thing that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 CSB

The will God has given us, he cannot invade. He has designed it to be free, you choose to yield or not to. That is why in our theme scripture Paul warns us that what we are up against is not the flesh because it is already destined for death.

But it is darts of the enemy against your soul, and the only way to fight those is through weapons that are mighty, notably the word of God and yielding to the help of the Holy Spirit which we have all received.  The reason many times we fall short is because we try to fight the flesh with the flesh, when some of the temptations that come to you can be avoided altogether.

For example, if you tend to get wasted and act out of character while at parties, instead of deceiving yourself that you will attend the party and avoid the alcohol, it would be wise to consider not attending altogether. Child of God, be wise and keep in mind that your enemy is a defeated foe who can only become empowered to the degree of your ignorance and disobedience. Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I have a learned spirit and lean my understanding on your wisdom and the counsel of your word. It will be said of me that I resisted the devil and he fled, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
