GLORY IN WEAKNESS (II)

“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 NLT

Paul had what we would call an impressive resume in our time.

You would think if given a window to boast he will exalt his impressive skills and acquired knowledge but instead he lines it up to contrast it to what rather seems lowliest of tasks. Serving and proclaiming Christ was Paul’s greatest pride and achievement. He was beaten, tortured and later on murdered for this cause.

While many of us pride in what is good enough to be showed off and boasted about, the Lord rejoices in men who come to the end of themselves. Unlike the popular saying God helps those who help themselves (it is nowhere in scripture by the way), God helps those who cannot help themselves.

Be therefore confident that when you call to Him, He hears you and takes joy in helping you as you draw near to Him. For this reason, we boast in weakness cause then He who only knows to win fights for us. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I find joy and solace in knowing that the king of heavens armies is on my side making all things work for my good, to the glory of his name. Amen!
