GOOD SHEPHERD (II)

“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 NLT

As we learnt yesterday, a good shepherd feeds, guides and shields his flock.

It is possible to be fed falsehood, guided into deception and shielded from truth, especially when one’s heart is not established in the fear of God. Proverbs 24:3 tells us that with wisdom a house is built, with understanding it is established and with knowledge its treasures are availed. We that believe know that true wisdom is the fear of God (Proverbs 9:10).

The Lord’s promise to His redeemed is that He will lead them to shepherds who wisely reveal truth because their hearts fear Him, who establish their people into prudence and teach them to walk circumspect even as they prosper. Be sure to guard your heart and mind in wisdom when you have found such a covering established in the fear of God.

Submit, and obey for they give an account to the Lord over your souls (Hebrews 13:17).

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I thank you for the spiritual authority you have placed over me. Give me the ability to obey and submit to my spiritual leaders that I may be fruitful in my ways, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
