LITTLE LEAVEN (I)

“At that time I will carry out against Eli everything I spoke against his family—from beginning to end. For I told him that I would judge his family forever because of the sin he knew about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.” 1 Samuel 3:12-13 NIV

When it comes to gray areas, many people struggle with discerning what is permissible although not necessarily perfect.

Granted some things must be addressed case by case, and it is really up to God to have the final say; but usually its best to have a clear yes or no on most matters just to avoid any wages tied to partiality or neutrality. An example is with our theme scripture, Eli a priest of God who had been faithful in his ways, failed to discipline his sons who exploited God’s people in God’s very temple.

As a patriarch and a priest, the same repercussions that could have been applied to anyone who would dare vandalize the house of the Lord should have been applied to them. So it is for you child of God, you are royalty. It is imperative that you remain sensitive to what grieves the spirit of God in you.

Some things may be allowed for the masses and not for you, and we have a perfectly able helper who teaches us into all truth. Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. My primary desire is to never grieve your spirit and to stay sensitive and corrigible if I ever miss the mark. May it be said of me that I brought you praise in all my endeavors, in Jesus name. Amen!

CI.
