LITTLE LEAVEN (II)

“He waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul’s men began to scatter. So he said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings.” And Saul offered up the burnt offering. Just as he finished making the offering, Samuel arrived, and Saul went out to greet him.” 1 Samuel 13:8-10 NIV

Oftentimes we disqualify people based on what is not working. However, success to God is in your obedience and not necessarily in your obvious exploits to the eyes of men.

In our theme scripture, one incident was enough to disqualify a king in the sight of God though it didn’t make a big difference in sight of the masses. He performed a priestly ritual without being a priest, and while having been clearly instructed not to cross that line.

So it is today in our lives as children of God, a minister may still be performing miracles, signs and wonders when the Lord’s presence rests not on them no longer because of a colossal compromise that may have been avoided by waiting on God.
A business could stay thriving in what’s acceptable to men, but a bribe taken several years ago dims the favor that could have rested upon you if you had dealt faithfully.

One great minister once said: ‘it does not matter how many cheer you if you are walking in disobedience. Speed is not an advantage if you are headed in the wrong direction’.

May your degree of obedience always be the standard of your success. No man who yields as clay in the potter’s hand carries shame as their portion. Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. Your counsel is more valuable to me than any accolades. Soften my heart daily to the voice of your spirit that in all things I may discern that which honors you, in Jesus name. Amen!
