MEDITATING RIGHT
“How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.” Psalms 1:1-2 CSB
When we read meditating ‘day and night’ we rationalize this by asking ourselves but how can you think about one thing 24/7!
The literal meaning of day in this passage is good times and night is hard times. What the psalmist is encouraging us to do goes even beyond mere 24 hours but overlooks our circumstances in order to exalt God above everything and in every situation.
Child of God, it is expedient for you to know the word because its a weapon that is sure not to fail. For example, always remember that we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood; the angry boss at work, the lashing out spouse at home, the unruly child in high school are all susceptible to be an open door to attack the strongest in the faith from among you.
It is not always “them” but not having a ruled spirit makes them an access point to you. Always be mindful of such possibilities and slay your giants spiritually before you engage in physical battles. Praise the Lord.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I know how to discern the subtle attacks of the enemy and deploy the mighty weapons given to me through your word. I don’t set my self against my brothers and sisters for I know there is always a force behind every evil act. Help me to intercede for them and stand in the gap until their repentance is complete for you will that all men be saved, in Jesus mighty name.
