OF HEALTHY COMPROMISES

“I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.” Romans 14:14 NKJV

The thing with being transformed by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2) is once we know something, we are not dealt with as one that does not know. To whom much is given, much shall likewise be required.

There is a place for healthy compromises and our theme scripture is one of them. If for example you are visiting with a friend who is vegan because they believe eating meat or dairy is cruelty and robbery to the animals concerned, let not your attitude be one of judgement or scorn — especially if they believe it offensive to God.

Likewise the same courtesy could be expected of them in your home, as you also remain mindful not to feed them against their diet. It is however to be remembered that through Christ, some of the ritualistic tendencies of old have been rendered void, hence the liberties we enjoy to eat and drink as unto God.

Nevertheless, we know it is pleasing unto God  that we “make up our minds not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or a sister (Romans 14:13). Praise the Lord!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this word. I am a ruled spirit and treat very individual in view of God’s mercy. I am conscious that I am a city set on a hill whose actions ought to reflect the aroma of Christ to my brothers and sisters. I am helped by the Holy Spirit, to the glory of your name. Amen!
