REMAINING IN HIM

“And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.” 1 John 2:28 NIV

The weight of sin is heavy for the carnal man—but so is the weight of the anointing for the one who drifts from the source of life: Christ, the True Vine.

The Greek word translated as “remain” is menō, which means to tarry, to sojourn, and even deeper still—to continue to be present. John repeatedly reminds us that while salvation is a gift, this relationship with Christ cannot be sustained without total dependence on Him. Sobering scriptures like Matthew 7:22 remind us that if salvation were all that mattered, we could simply receive it and be done. But there is more—so much more.

Many walk with Him in appearance, but do not know His Name or His ways. That kind of intimacy only comes through abiding. Child of God, in all your getting, get wisdom—and with wisdom, inquire of Him in all things. It is in His presence that everything is made clear.

He is the difference!

Prayer: Father, thank You for this truth. Teach me to abide so closely in You that the heavenly realm becomes more real to me than anything else in this world. By Your Spirit, I live in this world, but I am not of it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
