SONSHIP
“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:14 NIV
In jewish culture, if a man took his newborn child and literally lifted him up to the sky, this was a sign that they recognize the child as legitimate and accept the responsibility to parent. They however, could choose to disown the child much later perhaps due to different faults.
An adopted child however could never be disowned no matter what they may do. It was customary to ensure if the solitary is placed in homes, it remained so for good that they may be preserved the trauma of hopping from home to home. This is why as born again children of God, it was done so for us through adoption in the kingdom of God, just so our Lord can emphasize that when He says he will never leave nor forsake us, HE MEANS IT.
Child of God, how you receive this truth affects everything you are able to access through Christ Jesus. Just as a child from a wealthy family owns up to it, so must you completely be saturated with this confidence as a son in your Father’s house. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father I thank you for this immense privilege and gift I have received through Christ Jesus. I take none of it for granted and appropriate every portion if my inheritance through Christ in understanding. To you belong all glory, honor and praise, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
