STAYING ON COURSE (II)
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ…” Philippians 1:27 NIV
Yesterday we talked about possible outlets that may cause a child of God to veer off their course. Today allow me to shine a light on the outlet that not only keeps you on course but acts as ripple effect to those around you.
Scriptures are filled with exhortations for believers to be mindful of the presence which they carry and how it has potential to influence those that surround them. For example, one of the key principles of excellence as it pertains to work, is to do whatever you do as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23).
This is irrespective of where you work, who you work for, how they behave or treat you, but because it is a principle given to you by your Father in heaven, it works. The same is as in our theme scripture, conducting ourselves in a manner worthy of Christ’s Gospel places a demand and responsibility on us to truly walk conscious of our ambassadorship. How you talk, how you resolve conflict, how you conduct yourself, how you respond to tragedy/ calamity, how you dress, how you think, how you celebrate or mourn — all these and above, must remain within the nature of the family you belong to, that of Christ!
There is a reason faith is an experience and not a material possession. The impact you make in life is heavily dependent upon how you made others feel and what your character and response to life instilled in them. Be consistent with the manner of your Father! Hallelujah.
Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I run my race redeeming the time and preaching Christ even when there is no room to speak. I have been tamed by the Holy Spirit to be a written epistle known and read by all men that you may be glorified in my body, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
