TAMED CHARACTER

“But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.” Colossians 3:8 NIV

One of the primary evidences of a man that is under the continuous influence of the Holy Spirit is observed through language and behavior.

Anger is expressed either through speech or actions, so is rage, slander and malice. The seat of all that we say or do as a result of our meditations is the heart. In Proverbs 23:26, the Bible says the Lord is after our hearts so that He may instruct us in His way.
Child of God, you cannot be saturated by the Holy Spirit and have no girdle to your mouth and second thought to your actions. Self control is the primal posture that bears witness to the spirit of God at work in us.

No believer should be found overindulging in anything; instead all things should be done in moderation that it may be said of us that we obey as a response to God’s love.

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I am tamed in all my ways for I know that the mouth speaks from what fills the heart. I yield continually to your pruning as it sanctifies me and edifies those around me, until the day of Christ and to the glory of your name. Amen!
