THE ASSURANCE OF HIS WORD
“So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Hebrews 13:6 NIV
Christians are the only people that reserve the boast of a God who hears, speaks and has made trustworthy promises.
When fear overwhelms your mind, it is because there is a struggle to apprehend what you should be assured in. We can assuredly say: ‘the Lord is my helper, i will not be afraid’ because He himself first said “I will never leave you, nor forsake you”.
We can say “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for He is with me” because He first said, “my presence shall go before you“. When these truths are fully formed in your spirit as your reality, you can rest with peaceful certainty that He is faithful to fulfill. Faith is not a matter of feeling, though there is a time to nurture our senses. It’s a matter of believing even before you see for what is divine can only be conceived in the spiritual realm before it dares manifest in the corruptible physical realm.
Stand firm then, believer. He that promised is faithful to fulfill. Praise Him!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I am fully persuaded of your faithfulness because I lean on the truth found in your Word. It will be said of me that mine was a legacy of faith, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
