THE BELIEVER’S DISTINCTION

“When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Lord, she came to test Solomon with hard questions.” 1 Kings 10:1 NIV

Sheba, assumed to be a Gentile land, was wealthy and well-established, though not in covenant with the God of Israel.

Yet, Solomon’s fame spread far and wide because of the wisdom God had given him, showing even Gentiles the favor Israel received through him. What stands out in this passage for us is the reminder that, as a child of God, everything about your life—your ideas, work, business, education, family—is not ordinary; it preaches its own message. Your business may not be the only one offering the same goods or services, but the excellence and principles in execution can set it apart.

The same applies to your children: how you raise them might be the reason others see them and give glory to God. Your marriage may not be the first people encounter, but how you serve and submit to one another could inspire others to build on God’s foundation. The point is, not everyone will be called to the pulpit, but our lives serve as altars that can spread the fame of God far and wide—because altars speak! Let it be said of you that your life brought good news, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for this wisdom. I thank you for the spirit of excellence in which you have taught me to operate. I thank you for making me a sign and a wonder in all my endeavors because I seek to please you above all else. It shall be said of me that I applied my self to all that is entrusted to me, serving the Lord in it, in Jesus name. Amen!
