THE GIFT OF THE PROCESS
“And He has made My mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me, And made Me a polished shaft; In His quiver He has hidden Me.” Isaiah 49:2 NKJV
After Paul’s encounter with Christ, there was about a three-year period before his public ministry began (Galatians 1:18). Similarly, Jesus lived 30 years in relative obscurity, only beginning His public ministry in the last three years of His life (Luke 2:52).
As believers, we all undergo a process of sanctification where the Holy Spirit aligns and transforms us to be more like Christ. This process is especially critical for ministers. As Isaiah 49:2 illustrates, God works in us privately so that when we speak publicly, our words are proven and rooted in the reality of our personal transformation (Romans 15:18).
The price of preparation is a test of faithfulness. Do not rush the process. As a wise woman once said, “Speed is not an advantage when you are moving in the wrong direction.” Hallelujah!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for this truth. I yield willingly to every step of my preparation that I may do the works of my Father. It shall be said of me that I did, as I saw my Father do, in Jesus name. Amen!
